The Hughes H1, the last privately built air speed record holder, 1935. All since have been military

It set a world airspeed record and a transcontinental speed record across the United States.

The H-1 Racer was the last aircraft built by a private individual to set the world speed record; every aircraft to hold the honor since has been a military design. The H-1 first flew in 1935 and promptly broke the world landplane speed record with Hughes at the controls, clocking 352 mph (566 km/h) averaged over four timed passes.

Zach at Road and Track has a great article on the consequences of using Natl Parks during govt shutdowns

Zach broke into the park to prove a point about the idiocy of the govt shutdown, and wrote about the experience to remind people how truly special our public lands are.

He got 3 tickets (federal misdemeanors) and had to lawyer up and go to court. He got a plea deal, 40 hours community service, at the park. Lots of toilet cleaning... you know the ones, the nasty public ones with no ventilation, that so many people seem to destroy for fun

Charity auctions win, but Mopar Challenger wins over Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro (again, and for a while to come based on the HP of the Hellcat)

Each of the Detroit Big Three automakers donated a hot muscle car to be sold for charities of their respective choosing on Super Saturday at Barrett-Jackson.

the 1st Challenger Hellcat raised $825,000 http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2014/09/29/first-2015-dodge-challenger-srt-hellcat-sells-for-825000/

the 50th anniversary Mustang, #1964 of 1,964 50th anniversary editions raised $170,000

The first to cross the block was a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, VIN No. 003. The jet black Z/28 raised $147,500

just a step away from a horse drawn carriage, a 1912 Aberdonia, Landau

The Aberdonia was an English car manufactured in Park Royal, London from 1911 to 1915 by the coachbuilders Brown, Hughes and Strachan. The engine was a 3160 cc, 4 cylinder, 20 hp (15 kW) unit, it cost £500 with seven-seated touring coachwork, or £700 with "special landau body". At the 1911 London Motor Show a one-off design, mid-engined and forward-control with the driver ahead of the engine was displayed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aberdonia_(car)

2 things are easy to learn from this video of a monster truck running over 40 spectators. Stupid people watch from behind guard rails in front of the truck. This is why Monster Jam trucks perform in stadiums

start your week out with a lot of noise, trucks, and mud

Though, I do wonder.. wouldn't it be more fun to see a lot of alligators in that water trying to not get chewed up by the truck tires?
